Get Involved and Make a Difference

There are many ways to help the shelter and its furry residents. Here are just a few ways you can make a difference.

  • Donate directly by sending a cheque. Check out our Donate section for more giving options. 
  • Support some of the many events we hold including raffles, bake sales, walk-a-thon, yard sales, and our year-long bottle drive.
  • Volunteer or foster.
  • Place our coin boxes in your business to generate ongoing donations.
  • When you are at Pet Valu in Almonte or at Ren’s Pets or March Road Pet Food & Grooming in Kanata, you can buy food, collars, leashes, toys and cleaning supplies and place them in the Humane Society bins that are available at the stores.
  • Become a Board Member if you feel you have insight, resources, or strategies to improve the shelter.
  • Organize an event like a sports tournament, car wash, raffle, bake sale, barbecue, craft sale, garage sale, or gala.
  • Collect animal care items needed by the shelter and bring them in to us.
