Our first night was a little nerve racking when we realized he was to big for the crate. However there was no need for worry as we simply shut the bedroom door and he stayed with us without any problem. Now the door stays open and so does he. He just adores Cliff and follows him everywhere. Hachi loves having a big brother and they play together constantly.
We would like to say thank you all for making our family complete. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
Sincerely,
Darlene & Cliff
She's eating well, using her litter box and scratching post. Yesterday and today she's using her safe zone less and has started exploring the rest of the house. John loves her and when we're watching TV or reading, she's snuggled against one or the other of us. Last night, we had a friend over for supper and Tiffy gave him loves and snuggles too. She's TOTALLY adorable. I just love her compact sturdy body, John loves her markings and black paws. This morning, she played with some toys and looks more relaxed and rested. I've attached a picture I took this morning. Thank you so very much for taking such great care of her, and for all you do every day. I'll keep ya' posted on how she's doing
Hugs 'n Kisses from Tiffy,
John and Eadie xxx ooo.
She didn't cry last night but occasionally she would talk to us to see if everything was still o.k. We really love this little cat, and she has even wowed over my husband. We want to congratulate you on the great work you are doing with all the animals. We hope that many other beautiful cats and dogs are adopted. WE are really happy we decided to go with the Arnprior & District Humane Society's Animal Shelter.
Thanks so much,
Gail.
We enjoyed visiting your facility and have already told our cat friends about the free run the cats have and how wonderful the girls are with the cats.
Thank you
Her new brother Shula, is just head over heels in love with her. They are both 11 months old and both full of energy, they make us laugh everyday! It appears that Sweets was possibly a farm dog before, she really loves to go into the back of our pickup truck and just lay there.
Our other female dog, Toby who is a 10 yr old border collie likes to boss her around and Sweets just doesn't seem to mind. She is a really good fit to our family and has allowed Toby to get a little rest while she is busy playing with Shula! The only problem that Sweets has is the fact that she is a little to pawey….she like to paw at people a lot! But we are working on that and she is improving everyday. She is a very intelligent girl and I am just so glad that we found her.
Thanks again for taking such good care of her while at your facility. I am attaching a picture of her and her newest best friend, Shula. They are pretty much in this position every minute of the day!
Sam
A dog named Sam was adopted recently.
We received this note from his new master.
Hello everyone,
Sam is doing well. We have been doing a lot of walking (yesterday and today) and he went with me in the car to do errands this afternoon. He likes a little snooze after each outing and is eating well (probably no surprise).
We spent about 2 hours yesterday and another hour today working on commands. 10:30 last night he settled into his crate and we didn't hear a peep all night. At 6 this morning he greeted us warmly. After breakfast him and I spent a couple of hours walking and cuddling before I went to work for the morning. Sam and I picked up his dog license this afternoon and booked our first vet check-up for next Thursday when he will get his rabies shot.
I will keep you all posted on his progress. He really is great and my husband and I can't quite understand why his previous owner didn't come forward. He knows where the food canister is and once told to sit he politely waits while I scoop it out. He only had to be shown a couple of times where to lay down (on the mat about 6 feet from the dinner table) before we ate last night and he didn't budge until we got up to clear the table. While I had lunch today I only had to tell him once and point. He also lays quietly while I type on the laptop or read and doesn't crowd.
Of course he licks my face silly if I bring it near - not a bad thing and he really likes the squirrels and birds but comes away as soon as I say "leave it, come". He pulls a bit on the leash but as soon as I say "with me Sam", he slows. He doesn't charge across the street like some dogs would, a few feet away, with the command "sit" he plops his butt down and waits patiently for his good holistic treat (they must taste better than they sound). "Stay" isn't in Sam's command vocabulary yet but that just gives us something to work on and it will be a couple of weeks before we try letting him off leash.
Any way I won't keep going on and on - just know he is bringing a smile to our face.
Best Regards,
"master"
